The Transanatolia exists of 7 riding days. The first day is on Wednesday September 5th, on Tuesday 11th the rally finishes in Antalya. On tuesday night there is a party to finish of the rally. The day after, on september 12th (or later if you want), you fly home.
The weather in Turkey in september is normally very nice, rain is exceptional. Temperatures can vary from 15 to 35 degrees Celcius. As we ride a lot in the mountains, conditions are good.
We mainly sleep in bivouacs (5 nights) in some very special places. The bivouacs are easily accesible, so the support vehicles don't need special preparations to cope with the terrain. For the start, in the middle and at the end we sleep in Hotels. We use local catering. Thanks to the contacts of Yoshimoto this will be an unique experience! The bivouac consists of a big tent of 20x12 metres in which the the food is served. You can sleep in this big tent, just like the african Dakars, or bring your own tent. At night the temperature can drop significantly (to around 10 degrees), but it's never really cold. A 6x6 supportvehicle transports all the motorbikes and rally chest, also during the rally.

Race
In the race category, every day one or more specials are driven at speed. The frist 20 drivers in the standing, leave in the order of the results of the previous day. This way, slower drivers won't get in the way of faster drivers. The specials are widely varied and technically challenging. The diversity of landscapes will amaze you! The liasons are mostly unpaved, so don't think you're finished after the special!
You drive the route accoring the roadbook and you will be given just a couple of waypoint for support (bring your own GPS). The TransAnatolia is a real navigational rally, because of the roadbook situations follow each other within the kilometer. Occasionally there are separate routes for cars and motorcycles. Like in the first edition, a couple of Dakar participants, like Thomas de Bois and Henk Knuiman, joined the rally and they had an unanymous verdict: The TransAnatolia is a perfect navigational training and a great challenge!
Raid
People who don't want to take part in the race, or don't have a car that meets all requirements (see section '4x4'), it is possible to enroll in the Raid. Same road books, the same distance. Whoever navigates the best, wins.

Insurance
A repatriation and liability insurance is included in entry fee. In the event of a failure, all motorcycles of will course be returned to the Netherlands. For 4x4, transportation will be arranged if it's not possible to drive any further. There is also the possibility of a cancellation insurance. Read more on the site in the various sections to find out.
